More
Super Record at Madurai

AT Madurai, CM ran following
No of days at First Release Theatres.
Amirtham - 127 Days
Guru - 127 Days
Tamil Complex - 130 Days
Nadana Complex - 134 Days
CM was released in other theatres for SECOND RELEASE on
101st Day (July 23rd) itself (nearly to 3 theatres).
Please note that CM ran morethan 125 Days in all four
theatres of first release.
At one Time CM was running in 8 theatres at MADURAI, which
is too too much for Madurai. But it is doing well now in
Second Release Theatres Also.
Chandramukhi Created a One More New Record at Madurai. No
film has run more than 50 Days on its Second Release at
Madurai.
Now Chandramukhi has touched 50th Day at Moogambiga
Theatre (Ambiga Theatre Complex where Baasah, Annamalai,
Maapillai, Veera, Adiyasa Piravi & Nattukku oru Nallavan
got released).
IT IS A SUPERB RECORD AND WILL HOLD IT FOR LONG TIME BY
CM.
Now a days, running 50 days in more than a theatre at
madurai are declared as HIT Films. CM ran more than 125
days in 4 theatres, which no other film (except SS Film)
can touch for long years.
Record break at
Tuticorini
Chandramukhi has created a
new record in Tuticorin. This is the first film to more
than 100 days with normal 4 shows. It is still running
and heading towards 175 days.
Chandramukhi is the
biggest crowd puller in Hydrabad
In the recent months after
AP Govt took the bold decision of abolishing the slab
system, Rajanikanth's block buster movie Chandramukhi
amassed an amazing gross of 94 lakhs for its 100 days
run. As per Maqsood, Chandramukhi is the last biggest
crowd puller in the last 10 years at Devi 70MM A/C, as
families and ladies throng to the theatre to catch the
magic of Rajanikanth and enchanting performance of
Jyothika. Probably this is the first movie that ran for
100 days after AP Govt abolished the slab system.

CM creating record again!
Running towards 100th day at Sanjose
CM was released
simultaneously in Sanjose (USA) and everyone knows that
it was running packed houses. However when "stranger"
was released CM was taken out from Sanjose IMC 6 theatre
for a week (Jun 17-23). After one week, CM was screened
again from June 24th again on the same theatre in
Sanjose.
Now Stranger has been removed after 3 weeks of its release
where as our SS CM is still running.. even we have the
movie screened for next week also... so when it will be
100th day for rest of the world it will be 93rd day..
(because of 1 week lost between Jun 17-23)
Whatever might be the case no other regional language film
has run this much in the recent years.

Chandramukhi Broke Record
in Hosur
'Chandramukhi' has created
a new record in Hosur Town's Theatrical history. It
broke the record set by Chiranjeevi's Movie - (Telugu
Version of Mannan), that ran for 80 days, 13 years
back..Since this movie was shooted in TVS Factory in
Hosur, it ran for these days.
Chandramukhi broke the 13 year record because of
Superstar Rajni, Rajni ,Rajni only. Even our Thalapathi
Sathyanaryana headed a function conducted by the theatre
owners last week in Hosur. Since Hosur is situated
nearby Bangalore. most of the movies get pirated within
a week...even though Our Chandramukhi created a record..
Movie Record in Hosur Theatres..
1. 'Chandramukhi' 80 th day
2. Chiranjeevi Movie - ('Mannan' Remake) - 80 days
3 .Chinnathambi - 55 days
4. Baba - 45 days
[Abt Hosur - an Industrial Town ..situated at 40 Kms
from Bangalore which hosts most of the world class
manufacturing companies like Ashok Leyland, TVS,
Hinustan Lever, Titan, Hindustan Motors, GE etc]
Chandramukhi creates
records in all centres!
Chandramukhi has created
history, as it continues to rock and is steady at all
the 170 releasing stations in Tamilnadu where it is
completing 50 days today. The film has broken all
existing box-office records and the way it is going, it
will complete 100 days in all releasing stations- a
unique record for a film!
'Abhirami' Ramanathan, the chief of Tamilnadu theatre
owners association says: "I have no words to describe
Chandramukhi, which is once in a blue moon mega
blockbuster. The ladies and family audience have made it
an event". At Ramanathan's Abhirami theatre in Chennai,
the film has collected a whopping distributor's share of
Rs 39 Lakhs in 46 days breaking Padayappa record of Rs
34 Lakhs in 112 days!
At Santham theatre (Seating capacity 568), The film has
taken a share of Rs 30 Lakhs in 46 days which is
fantastic. Udayam complex in Chennai where Chandramukhi
opened in three screens, the distributors share in 46
days is Rs 48.5 lakhs!
Heard of a place called Ukolathupalayam? It is a C-station
near Tiruchi where normally a super hit collects a
distributors share of Rs 30,000 to 40,000 as it is
played only after the main stations. Now, here
Chandramukhi was released simultaneously and the film
has
given a share of Rs 3,25,000 already!
"Amazing", "Unbelievable", "Super" are the words being
used by the trade to refer Chandramukhi collections all
over Tamilnadu. All theatres outside Chennai are not
willing to divulge collections figures fearing Income
Tax raids!

Telugucinema.com : Rajani’s Chandramukhi picks up
May 3, 2005, 08:39
Bad and wrong strategy by our big
heroes helped a dubbed movie in big way. Rajanikant’s
Chandramukhi, which was
struggling to find audience a week back, has finally
shot to top stage, thanks to our inept films. The film
is now doing roaring business as the summer holidays are
in and students and family audiences are thronging to
the theatres, Chandramukhi has emerged the
winner, pushing Allu Arjun’s Bunny
down.
It is now considered a
hit in Andhra Pradesh too. In Nizam, the film is running
in more than 50 theatres with almost 90% of ticket sales
every day. In Andhra, particularly in Vizag and Godavari
area its position is not that rosy.
The major factors that
helped Chandramukhi getting
revenues is lack of competition from Telugu films as
Venky’s Subash Chandra Bose
became a disaster and no big star film is there to
compete.
Chandramukhi
has got bad talk initially as the film’s content lacks
‘enough commercial material’ but with Bunny
collecting average gross, it started picking up patronage
of ladies. And in turn, the film rose from an average
grocer to hit film. Delay in release of top stars movies
this summer also helped the movie.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun’s
Bunny is struggling to stand in
the race now. Although, it has slipped to second place
it is still draws good collections in Hyderabad.
Chandramukhi turns International superhit
Tamil superstar Rajnikanth's charisma seems to
have spilled over to Andhra Pradesh, as his "Chandramukhi"
has opened to a terrific response.
"Chandramukhi": With
Rajnikanth assuring that it would be his kind of film
despite an off-beat plot; audiences are thronging
theatres to watch the tricks of the veteran star. Will
this prove to be his comeback film?

Style
king Rajnikanth’s Chandramukhi opened well in
Karnataka. But the fact is that this bumper opening has
not affected the collections of Aaptha Mithra. In
its 34th week, Vishnuvardhana’s Aptha Mithra
screening at 39 theatres all over Karnataka has collected
over Rs.10 crores!
Meanwhile the three weeks
ban on non-Kannada films releasing in Karnataka was
relaxed in the case of Chandramukhi and Mumbai
Xpress. Both the films had simultaneous release on
April 14.
Chandramukhi
is going great guns as there is a huge Tamil population
here and only a minority of the audience watch both the
languages. The Tamil audiences in Karnataka have not
watched Aptha Mithra and they are thronging the
theatres making the film a sure hit.
It was a feast day for
black marketers on the opening day of Chandramukhi.
Tickets were sold at a whopping Rs 500 in the black and
serpentine queues are seen even after six days of
release. The film is showing at Innovative multiplex,
PVR – 5 shows, a day. In theatres like Urvashi, Naga,
Nataraj, Lakshmi, Mukunda, Madeshwara, Sri Balaji and
Vijay it is four shows a day.
`Chandramukhi` trounces `Chandrolsavam`!
Wednesday, 20 April ,
2005, 12:17

It may sound bizarre but the truth is that Rajnikanth’s
Chandramukhi has trounced Mohanlal’s Chandrolsavam,
both released on the same day (April 14)!
In Trivandrum,
Chandramukhi released in three screens at Athulya,
Anjali and Dhanya and grossed Rs 7,11,545 in four days
while Chandrolsavam in two screens Sreekumar and
Kairali could manage only Rs 5,23,340 during the same
period.
Chandramukhi
is heavily inspired from Mohanlal’s classic
Manichitrathazhu and was not expected to do well in
Kerala. Surprisingly, the film has been well received
and is doing better business than the three Malayalam
Vishu releases.
Meanwhile
Chandrolsavam is trimmed by 18 minutes to make it more
racy and crisp but what the trade feels is that director
Ranjit could have done this before release! Kochi
Rajavu is holding on with 50 percent collections
thanks to aggressive marketing campaign by Dileep&Co.
But sadly Jayaram’s Alice In Wonderland, the best
of the lot is floundering at box-office due to lack of
publicity.
Vishu 2005 has turned out
to be a nightmare for Malayalam film industry.

Film News: Chandramukhi
Sells 2215 Tickets In Sanjose
Super
Star Rajni Kanth once again proved his image with the
collections overseas. As per the official reports 2215
tickets were sold online through www.secondshows.com in
Sanjose before movie release and it was the record in
the history of Indian film industry. The talk of the
movie or the word of mouth publicity hasn’t affected the
film with the indelible following Rajni had among the
public. “The film continues to gain collections even in
the following weeks”, says the distributors in Sanjose.
On the other hand many of the people have returned back to
homes, as there wasn’t any place to park the vehicles or
to get the tickets at the theatre.
