Actor Ponnambalam was admitted to a private hospital in Adyar, Chennai, for a kidney-related problem recently. Actor and politician Kamal Haasan reached out to the actor, and has been helping him out. We had earlier reported that the Ulaganayagan has come forward to bear the educational expenses of the actor's two kids.

Now, Superstar Rajinikanth, who is also an actor tuned politician, has come forward to help Ponnambalam financially. Reports are the the 'Annaathhe' actor inquired about his health and agreed to lend financial help to take care of his medical treatment.

Reportedly, Rajinikanth spoke to actor Ponnambalam personally and has agreed to help him. The 56-year-old actor started out in films as a stuntman and then started acting in minor roles in films. He was recently seen as a contestant on the popular TV reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, which was hosted by Kamal Haasan.

A few days ago, Poonambalam released a video through his PR from the hospital. In the video, the actor can be seen breathing with the help of an oxygen mask.
