Superstar Rajinikanth has asked fans not to push him any further to rethink about his decision not to enter electoral politics by holding rallies.
"Do not push me to rethink my decision not to enter electoral politics by holding rallies. I have clearly said in my statement, why I am not entering electoral politics," actor Rajinikanth tweeted on Monday morning.
Rajinikanth's tweet comes a day after a section of his fans held a peaceful rally at Valluvar Kottam in the city to urge him to take a relook at his earlier decision not to enter electoral politics.
In a statement on December 29, 2020, Rajinikanth had said he is unable to launch his party and enter electoral politics citing his health condition. Though initially shocked by his decision, a majority of his fans and Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) members grudgingly accepted the actor's decision, since it was based on his health condition.
Rajinikanth also expressed his anguish that some fans along with some expelled members of RMM came together to hold a rally on Sunday. It was against the decision of RMM, he said.
While expressing his displeasure over attempts to hold such rallies to push further, Rajinikanth felt happy with the way the Sunday rally was organised without troubling the public.
