::A note from the President, how the LIC Fan Club was formed::

I introduce myself as P Sridhar, working in a Public sector General Insurance Corporation of India as System Administrator cum Accountant. I am a hardcore Rajini fan right from days of BILLA. Until 1984 I used to see our Thalaivar`s movies in my area. In 1984, A small group used to assemble in LIC building (near Alankar Theatre). We used to exchange our views about Thalaivar`s recent movies and his records. Slowly the group grew in numbers and we were able to a muster a strength of 25 members. Officially we organized our first function was at Woodlands threatre. The occasion was to celebrate 125 continuous shows houseful of GURU SISHYAN We along with the theatre management decorated the theatre with serial light settings to mark the occasion. Sweets were distributed to the cinema viewing audience. Then regularly, We used to attend Thalaivar`s all Cinema awards function. And our strength will be present on all the occasions. Similarly We started printing pamplets on the occasions of 50th day & 100th days elaborating the records created by Thalaivar`s current running films all over the world. The pamplets will be distributed along with sweets on the occasion. Thalaivar`s hit songs in the films will be screened during interval to celebrate the occasions.

Every year on the eve of Thalaivar`s Birthday celebrations, We used to bring out Posters hailing our thalaivar. And also if new films were running during Birthday occasion, Grand gala function will be orgasnized in the theatre premises with lot of fanfare, beating drums and distributing sweets on the occasion.. The highlight of our group is the release of thalaivar`s Mannan. On the occasion of release of Mannan, Special Soveneior were released which contained details of Various records created by our Thalaivar in various districts and contained lot of best wishes from film personalities and from fans association. Four functions were organized to celebrate mega success of Mannan. 25thday, 50thday, 75th day and Grand 100th day function were organized at Shanthi Theatre. Special gifts were distributed to all the theatre staff members and Laddus were distributed on the occasion to the audience. When Mannan were running to packed houses even after 100 days, suddenly the film was shifted to Anna theatre. We came out with a poster condemning the attitude of theatre management.

Similarly, We were invited to celebrate 100days run of Superstar`s Telugu version BASHA at Vijayawada. We went and participated on the occasion. These activities continued till the recent release of BABA. When Baba was released,a life size of Banner of Thalaivar was kept by us on the front panel of the theatre containing 80 feet size cloth banner. At the time of 50 days celebration of Baba, We had to face the cunning plot enacted by the AIADMK Govt. along with the Cine personalities (Just to degrade our Thalaivar`s fame). At that time, when our fans themselves does not want to celebrate the occasion, We boldly came out with the pamplet justifying our thalaivar`s stand not to go to Neyveli instead to go for a One day token fast at Chennai. On the occasion of 50th days celebrations of Baba at Albert Theatre, two Padayappa songs were screened to the joy of our fans. Similarly, special pamplets were disbtributed on the day of Fast, Infact the very first pamplet was given to our Thalaivar.
