Die-hard fans of Tamil cine star Rajnikanth in Mangalore
will finally get to watch their Hero on silver screen
with the release of his much awaited flick 'Sivaji: The
Boss'. The movie was finally released here at Patinum
and Adlabs today.
Nothing
perhaps better illustrates the Rajnikant phenomenon more
than a huge hoarding at Platinum that shows the iconic
superstar wearing a corduroy jacket and with a strutting
posture.
Platinum theatre saw a mad frenzy for tickets,
determined not to miss a first day first show in
Mangalore today. "I got the ticket for Rs 150/- giggles
one of the fans; I have tickets for one more day and I
will not miss it" he says. Standing on the line to
watch the first show itself is a "Paisa vasool" for
another fan who bought the ticket on black market rate.
Platinum will screen four regular shows of the movie
from today.
The
movie buffs in the city had to wait for nearly 2 weeks
after its release until the theatres here obtained the
print of the film from Bangalore based distributor Pai &
Company. Due to the restriction imposed by the Karnataka
Film Chamber of Commerce on the number of prints that
could be released for non-Kannada films in the State,
Rajni fans had to wait for so long amidst the media hype
