Farishtey - Super star as patriotic hero!

During the release of Roja, every one was enthusiastic to watch the scene, when Arvindaswamy was hastening to save the National Flag from the infiltrator who tries to put on fire. It is still amazing why super star doesn’t deliver patriotic dialogues or starts to save the country with having a A.K.47 or something like fantasy…in Tamil films.

However, he did a patriotic role once in Hindi film – Farishtey, with Vinoth Kanna & Dharmendra, released in the beginning of 1991 when “Dharmadurai” was going on successfully in the theatres of Tamil Nadu.

I think, this film is not yet dubbed in Tamil, that’s why most of the fans are not aware of patriotic avatar of Super Star. In this film he tries to host the national flag in a village controlled by the villain group and was killed by the villain. In the mean time, he sings one patriotic song also with having National Flag in his hand. Though there is no logic, his characterization, of course not established in Tamil...

One more interesting thing in this film, during the introduction scene, he introduces himself as a “Block Hero” which is quite unusual in Bollywood. If you get chance to see “Farishte” – watch just to enjoy the patriotic Rajni!
