Superstar Rajinikanth revealed that he dons a very important role in 'Kuselan'. However, he said that, as per the story, “Pasupathy’s role is 50%, Vadivelu gets 25% and 25% for me”. He added that the movie revolves around his character.

He spoke on the occasion of the pooja of ‘Kuselan’ held today morning in AVM studios. “The character Ashok Raj will be a turning point in my career”, the Superstar told the press persons gathered in a large number. He said in a lighter vein that Meena, who first acted as a child in his film and as a pair later, dons the role of a mother in this film. He quickly added with laugh that, “Not as a mother to me. She acts as a mother of two children”.

He also informed that the emotional climax would be on par with 'Chandramukhi'. He expressed his confidence that the movie would come out very well.

Director P. Vasu said that the movie is Rajini’s movie and that no one needs to have any doubt about it. His character has been shaped to fulfill the expectations of his fans, he added.

It is learnt that Rajini has two fights and two duets in the film.

Hundreds of press persons including cameramen and videographers gathered in the spot. Two TV channels telecasted the event live.

Kucheludu Launch (Telugu Version)

Telugu version of superstar Rajnikanth’s bilingual film Kucheludu was launched today evening at Hotel Novotel, HICC, Hyderabad. Superstar Rajnikanth was accorded a warm welcome by the unit of Vyjayanti Movies. TDP president and former Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao, megastar Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Jagapati Babu, Ashwini Dutt (producer), P. Vasu (director), K. Raghavendra Rao, hero Rajasekhar, Paruchuri Brothers, Rajamouli, Dr. D. Ramanaidu, Venu Madhav, Tannikella Bharani were among the guests. Ramcharan Teja also accompanied the guests. Vyjayanti Movies is making this film. The launch function started early and was finished so quickly. Chiranjeevi clapped the muhurt shot on a cutout of Rajni on the stage, while Chandrababu Naidu switched on the camera and first shot direction was by Dasari.

On this occasion, Rajni said: “I am so happy to be working in Telugu film again, after a long time. I love Telugu people and I love Telugu language. During the launch of Pedarayudu, it was graced and blessed by ANR and NTR. The film became a big hit. Now also, I find good people here, who have come to bless us. I am sure Kucheludu will become a super hit. At a time when I was in a dilemma whether to continue in Telugu or Tamil, my one and only friend Mohan Babu suggested me to continue in Tamil. He said there was a lot of politics in Tollywood. The credit of my superstardom in Tamilnadu goes to my great friend Mohan Babu.”

Megastar Chiranjeevi said: “Everybody knows Rajnikanth is the superstar. He is now an international figure with his influence felt even in Japan. We are all proud of him. When I felt personally disturbed in the recent past, Rajnikanth asked me to come to Chennai. He personally spent long hours with me. He is a philosopher. He is a guide. His positive energy is amazing. It happened during the Deepawali celebrations last year. Rajni gave me a lot of moral and psychological support. It is my luck to have a friend like Rajni. I wish the Vyjayanti Movies team all good luck.”

Chandrababu Naidu spoke at length, heaping praise on Chiru and Rajni. “I am happy to be here with glamour world. This film with Rajnikanth is a great contribution. Director P. Vasu has the capacity to do great films. The positive energy of Rajnikanth is great. Though he looks very simple, he holds extraordinary powers as a noble human being. Oka Natudigaa, Aayanaku Aayane Saati. Chiranjeevi is a good friend of mine. He holds a beautiful vision for society. His social service is commendable.”

Dasari Narayana Rao said: “Chandrababu Naidu is the son-in-law of Telugu film industry. This new film Kucheludu has the rare combination with Rajnikanth and Jagapati Babu. Ashwini Dutt fully knows the tactics of promoting the film, besides getting good openings for the same. I know Rajnikanth for nearly 35 years – from Day One of his industry entry. What he was then is the same today. His mannerisms and his respect for others remain the same. It is a rare phenomenon in the film industry. His positive energy is incredible. The same brought him universal recognition. I am sure P. Vasu will make a great film with Kucheludu.”

Earlier, Jagapati Babu gave the welcome speech. He said he just couldn’t believe when he was told that he would be co-starring superstar Rajnikanth. He also thanked Ashwini Dutt and Vasu for giving him the opportunity.

Highlights

A lazer show was presented amidst repeated screening of a specially-made trailer containing various clips from Rajni’s blockbusters – accompanied by hit song – Okade Okkadu Monagaadu as background score. A group of ravishing dancers from Mumbai performed hip-shakes at the live show.

When Chandrababu Naidu arrived at the venue, Ramcharan Tej was the first to get up, wishing Chandrababu Naidu and asking him to be seated.

Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Rajasekhar and Ramcharan Tej were all seen in black shirts.
