For Rajinikanth's fans it is going to be a real treat—to watch their icon appear in a French film. The film titled Prête-moi Ta Main (Rent a wife), directed by Alain Chabat, features footage from Muthu, showing Rajinikanth fighting the bad guys. The clippings appear when the lead actress watching Rajinikanth on TV says: "I'm watching Muthu, a must-see Indian movie."
Prête-moi Ta Main, which was screened in Cannes, will be released in November this year. The producers said that it may be released in India too, if the distributors show interest. Muthu was a big hit in Japan. Released under a different name, Dancing Maharaja, the film won a number of Japanese hearts for both Rajini and Meena. Watching Chabat's Prête-moi Ta Main, will the French show interest in Rajinikanth? You just can't say anything now? Chabat is known for his movies like Asterix & Obelisk: Mission Cleopatra.
Kavithaalaya must be proud for the French producer obtained permission from the company to use the clipping. You can clearly see trademark Rajini in the 100 second clipping that appears in the French film.
