Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has made a spectacular start at the global box office, creating a major buzz among fans. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action entertainer has reportedly grossed an estimated $44.45 million (approximately ₹392 crore) worldwide, including its opening day, and debuted at No. 2 on Rentrak's global weekend chart for October 16–18, 2026.

Jailer 2 Makes a Strong Worldwide Opening

According to Rentrak's global estimates, Jailer 2 collected approximately $31.24 million worldwide over the October 16–18 weekend alone. Its cumulative worldwide gross reached $44.45 million, including collections from its Thursday, October 15 opening.

Meanwhile, Sacnilk's trade estimates have reported a higher worldwide total of more than ₹424 crore over the first four days. Box-office figures vary between tracking sources, so these estimates should be treated separately until the final numbers are confirmed.

Impressive Performance at the Indian Box Office

The film has also recorded a strong opening across India. According to the Sacnilk figures cited in trade reports, Jailer 2 collected approximately ₹199.90 crore in India net over its first four days.

The reported daily India net collections were:

  • Day 1: ₹59.70 crore

  • Day 2: ₹37.10 crore

  • Day 3: ₹47.25 crore

  • Day 4: ₹55.85 crore

After a dip on the second day, collections reportedly recovered over the weekend, with Sunday delivering a stronger performance.

Telugu States Contribute to the Box Office Success

Beyond Tamil Nadu, Jailer 2 has reportedly received a positive response in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Trade estimates put the film's four-day gross in the Telugu states at approximately ₹43.75 crore. The response in these markets has contributed to the film's wider pan-Indian box-office performance.

BookMyShow Records More Than 6 Million Ticket Sales

Jailer 2 has also made headlines for its ticket sales on BookMyShow.

According to Sacnilk, the film recorded more than 61.68 lakh ticket bookings on the platform by the end of its opening weekend. This reportedly made it the biggest Tamil film on BookMyShow in terms of opening-weekend ticket sales.

The film has also delivered a notable opening in North America.

Bollywood Hungama reported a US collection of approximately $5.17 million, although figures differ across box-office tracking services. Rentrak's estimates put the North American cumulative gross at approximately $5.31 million through the October 18 weekend.
