The team in charge of Rajnikanth's film shoot in Malaysia has sent a request for the Indian superstar to meet Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and hopes the meeting can be held after Deepavali.
According to Malik Streams Corporation managing director Abdul Malik Dasthigeer on Monday, the company has conveyed its message to the Prime Minister's Department and hopes to get a reply as soon as possible.
"Once the Prime Minister has confirmed his dates, we will delay the shoot on that day for a while.
"Both the Prime Minister and Rajnikanth want to meet each other. We hope it happens," said Abdul Malik to reporters on Monday.
Rajnikanth will be in Malaysia till Nov 21. He arrived in the country on Oct 26.
Shooting for Kabali is expected to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Batu Caves and Bandar Sunway.
Rajni-mania hit the city as Indian superstar started filming for his upcoming movie at Menara UOA in Bangsar on Monday.
Fans thronged the area from very early in the day to catch a glimpse of the man fondly known as "Superstar".
Hundreds of people inside and outside the building were seen cheering the actor and chanted slogans like "Thalaiva valge" (Hail to the chief) and "Kabali''.
During one such moment, the actor surprised a girl, who was spotted crying as she couldn't see the superstar up close. To her surprise, Rajinikanth asked her to come near him and said he would pose for photos with her, making her dream come true.
