Superstar's Darbar film, produced by Lyca Productions, is all set to hit the theatres across the globe on January 9. The team of Darbar organised a pre-release event at Hyderabad on January 3.
At the pre-release event, Thalaivar surprised everyone by speaking in fluent Telugu. During the interaction, he also revealed the secret to his energy. The actor recently turned 69 and is one of the most energetic actors in recent times. It is his infectious energy that translates into his on-screen gimmicks.
When Superstar Rajinikanth began speaking, he was met with loud cheers. The superstar acknowledged the love he’s still showered with by his fans, and talked about what keeps him going at this age: “I owe my energy and happiness to my belief that we have to expect less, eat modestly, sleep normally, exercise well and talk less.” He also recalled the time when his film Anthuleni Katha (K Balachander’s remake of his Tamil film Aval Oru Thodar Kathai) released in Telugu in 1976 and said, “Most of those who are here today were not even born then.” He remembered how his films have been warmly received in Telugu over the years.
He thanked the Telugu audience for receiving his dubbed films with open arms. While concluding his speech, he advised everyone who attended the event to drive carefully.
The pre-release event of Darbar had Telugu directors Vamshi Paidipally, Harish Shankar, Maruthi, producer-distributor Dil Raju and BVSN Prasad as the chief guests. Director Harish Shankar spoke about how Rajinikanth ruled the roost in the pre-digital era.
Speaking at the event, he said, "In this digital age, there’s a stiff competition about who gets the maximum hits online. Rajini sir shattered all records without these big events and publicity decades ago. That’s how he became close to the Telugu audience.
Darbar, which has Nayanthara, Suneil Shetty and Nivetha Thomas, has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
