The facility was inaugurated by his elder brother Satyanarayana Rao Gaekwad on "Akshaya Tirutiyai" .

Though it was in Rajini's mind, the project got shape when one of his fans, Karthik asked him whether he will do this in memory of his parents during the discussion in Chennai last December. Immediately, he said yes for the project.

The land, about 2.49 acres was bought for the welfare project in the village recently in the name of Raghavendra Welfare Trust. The land with bushes were cleared and fenced by the fan's association.

K.V.S. Srinivasan, in charge, Krishnagiri Rajini Fan's Association took the initiate to identify the land with the local people in and around Nachikuppam and developed it with fencing facility.

Later, a bore well was dug up with 150 ft deep and a syntax OHT was kept atop a raised platform with metal guards. Five drinking water taps were provided for the use of the general public. On its right side, a tank with 12 ft length, 4 ft breath and 3 ft deep was built to quench the thirst of animals in the village.

After inaugurating the facility Mr. Satyanarayana Rao Gaekwad told The Hindu that a small marriage hall with 500 seating capacity, play home for the poor people with all the facilities, tennis court, basket ball court and library projects would come up in the land.

As a first step, construction of Marriage Hall would begin during August this year and all the projects will come up one by one.

He added, “Rajini had helping tendency from his childhood. He used to tell that whatever we earn is not for us, it is for everybody."

Rajinikanth's relatives living in the village were honoured with shawls and they gave a brief speech about his parents and Rajini’s good works for poor people.
