Due to Mannan release, Thalapathy was removed from most of the theaters.

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) - Thalapathy ran 66 days which was a record for Malaysia during 1991.  In that 26 days was continuously houseful for all shows.

 

Dalapathi had a dream run in Mumbai. It was released in Mumbai Aurora, Eros, Metro and many other theatres. Dalapathi was the first Tamil film to release in so many theatres in Mumbai and creating a new trend of sorts in Mumbai boxoffice for Tamil movies. It ran for 105 days in Mumbai Aurora theatre and beat the previous best record that of Vaidhegi Kathirunthaal (This was the first Tamil film to run 100 days in Mumbai).
