Sivaji is getting more audiences, particularly in
weekends than that of films released after Sivaji –
even now.
Tenkasi Takeover
In
Tenkasi, Sivaji has been released in Padmam. During
a Friday, last week, one of our friend went to watch
Sivaji there and he was astounded to see the theatre
was 90% full with audiences.
But
at the same time, other movies such as Veerappu and
Kireedom which got released in Bharadhan and
Bhagylakshmi respectively were able to attract only
25 to 35% audience on that day.
Kolathur Kalakkal
Our
group member and my friend Mohan has SMSed me an
interesting stuff. His SMS read the following: "Hi
Sundar, I went to Sivaji in Kolathur Ganga last
Friday Night. I was shocked to see there were only
40% audience. But for a new film Aariya there were
only 15% and for Thee Nagar there were only 5%.
There's no one to touch our Boss. Inform this to
group."
You
might remember one of my earlier posting which said
that Sivaji was shifted to Yamuna, a small theatre
when Kireedom released but again it came back in
Ganga (main theatre) after two weeks.
If
reports are to believed the theatre which bought the
movie for Rs.40+ Lakhs, now grossed double of the
their investment.
Do
you want any other evidence to prove Sivaji's
success?
Note 1 : Even at 11th weekend Sivaji
holds a special show in Sathyam complex. There will
be a show in this Saturday and Sunday morning at
Shree in Sathyam cinemas. Enough?
Note 2:
Sivaji has been reduced to two shows in Abirami and
removed in Theagarja Thiruvanmiyur. You should keep
in mind that the movie ran for more than 45 days in
Ganapathi Ram in Adyar, which is very near to
Theagaraja.
